Why This Podcast Exists
Golf has always been more than just a game.
It’s a collection of moments, traditions, and decisions that shape how it’s played today.
But most of those stories don’t get told.
They get lost behind scorecards, highlights, and leaderboards.
This podcast exists to look at the why behind the game, not just the outcome.
About the Host
I’m Sammy Jo, your host.
And if you’ve listened to the show, you already know -
I didn’t get into golf because I was good at it.
In fact, the first time I played 18 holes in a collegiate tournament, I was double-parred on every hole.
Which was…not ideal. For me or for anyone watching.
I played Division II golf in a situation where showing up mattered more than performance.
And while my playing career never really took off - my appreciation for the game did.
Not just for playing it…but for walking the courses, learning the history, and understanding how everything connects.
I’m not here to teach you how to play golf.
I’m here to tell you why it matters - one round at a time.
What You’ll Hear

The stories behind the moments we still talk about
Whether you’re a lifelong golfer or just getting into the game, the goal is simple:
Make golf history feel interesting, accessible, and worth knowing.
